Miracle Mile Democratic Club

        MIRACLE AWARDS 2023

             NEW DATE & TIME

The 2023 Miracle Awards celebrate those who make our city, state and country better.

Union of the Year  Writers Guild of America

There is no Los Angeles without Hollywood.  Next to oil and aviation, Film & TV production have defined our city and the world. This billion dollar industry starts with the words on the page.   Writers are the story tellers and the WGA stands by its members as they fight for a fair wage.   The battle is for all of us to see on the streets of our neighborhoods.  The show of solidarity with the other unions reminds us all that we are a union city!    We honor the WGA  as it protects their extraordinary artists and the importance of collective bargaining.   Right on!

Housing Advocacy Organization of the Year  Abundant Housing LA

MMDC supports the work of individuals and groups who understand everyone deserves a place to live in second largest city in America.

Abundant Housing LA works every day to make that goal a reality. Land use and navigating zoning laws is thorny work  but when advocates come together, solutions can be found, such as zoning reform. We honor Abundant Housing LA for their fight to make LA a more affordable, and diverse city.

Leadership/Member of the Year.  Ilissa Gold

Ten years ago, Ilissa envisioned a Democratic Club that would address the community needs of Wilshire and Mid City West.  A decade later, Miracle Mile Dem Club has been standing up for progressive values in health care, education, housing and social justice and everything else important to Californians and Los Angelenos.    The club's commitment to a better city and world were forged under the leadership and vision of Ilissa Gold whom we are honoring with Leadership/Member of the year.

Join the fun and get your ticket today!

When We Meet:

We hold our regular membership meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Please join our mailing list or like our Facebook Page for meeting announcements.

About Us:

The Miracle Mile Democratic Club is one of Los Angeles’ newest Democratic Clubs, representing the Miracle Mile, Fairfax District, Mid-Wilshire, Hancock Park, Park La Brea, and Greater Wilshire neighborhoods. We are chartered with the Los Angeles County Democratic Party.

The Miracle Mile Democratic Club was founded in early 2013 by a group of progressive Democratic community activists. By organizing Democrats throughout our borders, the members of the Miracle Mile Democratic Club use our collective strength to persuade the public officials of today while working towards the election of the public officials of tomorrow.
